BEGINNER BMX COACH CLASS MAY 26th
A beginner BMX Coach course is being run in Shepparton on Saturday May 26. This is a 1-day course with assessment completed on the
day. If assessed competent, participants leave qualified to coach basic BMX skills unsupervised on a BMX track. Follow this link for more details

BMXV STRATEGIC PLAN 2012 - 2015 – SHAPING OUR SPORT BY CHOICE, NOT BY CHANCE
Following a consultation process that included member survey’s, website and face book feedback opportunities along with strategic
planning workshops, BMXV and our appointed facilitator are glad to release the draft copy of BMXV Strategic Plan 2012-2015.
Whilst there will always be different priorities at various times across the sport, BMXV hope we all take pride in our new direction and
share the desire to work together to ensure BMX Victoria is the best it can be, in “promoting excellence from gate to finish” Read further here

BMX VICTORIA ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 19th MAY 2012
The BMX Victoria 2012 Annual General Meeting will be held in conjunction with a BMXV Council Meeting on Saturday 19th May.
The meeting will commence at 2pm and will be held at the Knox BMX Club. All BMX Victoria affiliated clubs are urged to have representation
at the meetings.

BMX VICTORIA STRATEGIC PLAN WORKSHOPS_REPORT
BMX Victoria and key stakeholders along with their appointed Strategic Planning facilitator have conducted the first three workshops to
develop the future direction of BMX in Victoria.
The first session set “The big picture” to understand the background and context for this review. It provided a strategic overview and lay
groundwork for the future sessions.
The following sessions worked on the organisation’s vision and mission statements along with key performance areas that BMXV will
focus on. These key performance areas will be the foundation of the BMXV action plan that will set the future of the sport in Victoria.
As part of this open and transparent process, please look at the Vision and Mission statement and feel free to comment and offer suggestions.
These will be tabled and discussed in future workshops. Please visit the link below

All Victorian riders (or entrants) competing at the National Titles at Mt Gambier, and clubs with members going should follow this link

the event.

BMX Victoria and key stakeholders along with their appointed Strategic Planning facilitator conducted the first workshop to

The session also incorporated results from the strategic plan survey which everybody had the opportunity to complete and submit. The
strategic planning working group would like to thank all those who took part. These results will be released shortly via the BMXV website.

VICTORIAN INSTITUTE OF SPORT 2012-2013 INDIVIDUAL SCHOLARSHIPS
Applications for Individual Athlete Scholarships are invited from Victorian athletes with outstanding performance records at national
and/or international level in sports that are currently not a VIS Tier 1 Program. For more information read here.
BMX Victoria Junior State Series supports National Breast Cancer Foundation for the 2012 Series
The BMX Victoria Junior State Series is proudly supporting the National Breast Cancer Foundation for the 2012 Series.
The NBCF logo is to be added to award plates to promote increased awareness of breast cancer research.
Gold coin donation boxes will be at registration at forthcoming events; 100% of donations will go directly to NBCF

The CYCLING VICTORIA, BMX VICTORIA 2011 Awards were held at the Wheelers Hill International on Saturday night 4th February.The BMXV winners were:
Victorian Rider of the year - Josh Callan
Senior rider of the year- Tom Siinmaa
Junior rider of the year - Matthew White
Most Improved Female rider (under 16) - Emily Richardson
Vet (30+) Rider of the Year - Greg Siinmaa
John Walczuk , services to BMX Victoria - Chris Ball
John Grigg official of the year - Steve Hunter
Congratulations to the winners. Also on the night, Life Memberships of BMX Victoria were presented to Simon Anderson and Brian Lacey.
STATE JUNIOR SERIES 2012 RULES & ENTRY FORM
The Series rules for the 2012 BMXV Junior State Series and entry form are available under ‘2012 Events’ (see the
first round on 26th February). BMXV’s coordinator for the series is Graham King who can be contacted

Cycling Victoria, BMX Victoria and the Australian Sports Commission join forces
Cycling Victoria, BMX Victoria and the Australian Sports Commission have joined forces to introduce a Grass Roots
BMX program aimed at schools.

BMXV CLUB CONTACT DETAILS
With the expansion of database services being rolled out by Cycling Australia (BMX Australia) it is increasingly important that
CA/BMXA have up to date contact information for all their member clubs, and soon when online membership starts it will be
even more important. Please would all BMXV Clubs fill out a copy of the 'BMXA CLUB OFFICE BEARERS,CONTACT DETAILS' form
which is available for download from this site under ‘Forms’ and send a copy to Cycling Australia. Also under ‘Forms’ is a
‘BMXV Club Contacts Update’ form which should be returned to us, for example, when there have been changes to your Club
Committee. Please remember that if your Club’s banking details change, the BMXV Treasurer accounts@bmxv.com.au needs
to be informed to facilitate reimbursement of online entry money.
Availability of online entry for clubs: Please read the attached information regarding the availability of online entries for clubs.
Victorian Race Numbers: All Victorian riders have allocated race numbers. Please check out yours in the list attached on the Administration page and
make sure you ride with it.
Working With Children Checks: All volunteers in our sport need to have passed a Working With Children Check (WWCC), . It is both a legal
requirement and a requirement of our Insurers that all our volunteers and officials have passed their WWCC by 30th June 2010. The time to apply is now. The
best place to get information is at the Victorian Government website www.justice.vic.gov.au/workingwithchildren
