ACCREDITATION FOR CLUB OFFICIALS
As announced at the 2012 BMX Victoria AGM; accreditation requirements for all BMXA officials have changed.With immediate effect, the Australian Sports Commission does not recognise any prior accreditation for Level 2 Officials.BMX Australia has introduced a new Level 1 Club Officials qualification test which is FREE and can be completed on-line.Participants must be at least 16 years of age, hold a current BMXA membership (a minimum of Volunteer - available FREE on-line**), sign an Officials Code of Behaviour and apply for a working with children check.
To be covered by BMXA insurance, clubs are required to have Level 1 Club Officials present for club racing.BMX Victoria require that all clubs have a minimum of four Level 1 Club Officials by the 31st July 2012 to ensure adequate support of club racing.BMX Victoria also encourages all members, parents and volunteer's to become Level 1 Club Officials to assist in conducting racing in Victoria.To complete the online Level 1 Club Officials test follow this link to the BMXA website** every member who has joined or renewed their licence online will have been issued a log-on and password to the BMXA Membership HQ. BMXV 2011 AWARDS
- The CYCLING VICTORIA, BMX VICTORIA 2011 Awards were held at the Wheelers Hill International on Saturday night 4th February. The BMXV winners were:
- Victorian Rider of the year - Josh Callan
- Senior rider of the year- Tom Siinmaa
- Junior rider of the year - Matthew White
- Most Improved Female rider (under 16) - Emily Richardson
- Vet (30+) Rider of the Year - Greg Siinmaa
- John Walczuk , services to BMX Victoria - Chris Ball
- John Grigg official of the year - Steve Hunter
Congratulations to the winners. Also on the night, Life Memberships of BMX Victoria were presented to Simon Anderson and Brian Lacey.
