BMXV AGM The BMXV Annual General Meeting will be on the 24th May 2009. Please see our new AGM tab for all the information. There are also forms if you wish to nominate for a position on the board/
There are going to be a couple of important appointments to be made at the AGM. Lynette Snow, BMXV's Treasurer of the last four or more years, has decided that she won't be standing for the position again. When she took on the position, BMXV's finances were in an absolute mess, and had been ever since GST had started back in 2000. Lynette took on the job, which no-one else back then wanted, sorted out the finances, did the GST returns for all the years going back to its inception and had the books properly audited. This was a mammoth task. Now the job's done and she wants a well earned break, so we're looking for someone amongst the membership to nominate for the position when the AGM rolls around. Whoever takes it on will have an easy job compared with their predecessor. All the books are in order, all the financial information is up to date and with the Auditors now. Since we de-registered for GST a year ago there's no longer a need for the Treasurer to prepare a quarterly Business Activity Statement (B.A.S.). Also, with changes (first proposed by Lynette) as to how we collect membership fees, there are now a lot less transactions to record than there used to be. Lynette will be happy to help train the new Treasurer, and if they're not familiar with MYOB she'll soon teach them. This is an opportunity for someone to both serve the sport, and improve their basic skills, which could have employment advantages outside of BMX.
She's prepared a job description in word and pdf. Anyone who is interested can email Lynette at lynettesnow@yahoo.com.au or ring the BMXV number and leave their contact details.
