OPEN LETTER TO ALL BMXV MEMBERS
Dear BMX Victoria member, BMX Victoria is currently engaged in a strategic planning process to establish a 3 year plan that
will serve as the organisations blue print for moving forward and developing the sport of BMX in Victoria. The Board would
like to extend the planning process to include you, a valued member of BMX Victoria.Your input will help shape our vision goals
as we look to the future of our sport.
We hope you will take a few minutes to respond to the questions below, they will be incorporated into our discussions and
thinking as we develop the strategic plan. BMX Victoria will also randomly select a respondent to the survey to win a “MyLaps
transponder”

STATE JUNIOR SERIES 2012 RULES & ENTRY FORM
The Series rules for the 2012 BMXV Junior State Series and entry form are available under ‘2012 Events’ (see the

MIGHTY 11s QUALIFIER AT ACT TITLES
The 2012 ACT State Titles are hosting a qualifier for the Mighty 11s Test Team. It’s open to riders who are still

ELITE ATHLETE TRAVEL GRANTS PROGRAM
Sport & Recreation Victoria have announced their Elite Athlete Travel Grants Program. The Elite Athlete Travel Grants Program
will provide funding of up to $2000 to assist elite Victorian athletes travel to compete at national championships or international
events. The first round of funding is now open and will close on 1 February 2012.

RESULT OF SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING TO APPOINT TWO BMXV BOARD MEMBERS
Two vacancies had occurred on the Board of Management of BMX Victoria. A Special General Meeting to elect replacement
Directors was held on Saturday 14th January 2012. The two successful candidates to join the Board were Karen Turner of Eastfield
BMX Club and Bryan Kennedy of Shepparton BMX Club. Updated contact details for the BMXV Board can be found under ‘Contact Us’
VICTORIAN DYNAMITE SERIES WRAP-UP FOR 2011
The final qualifying round of the Victorian Qualifying Series for the 2012 National Dynamite Series was completed at the Victorian State
Championships in Shepparton on Saturday November 19th.

BMX program aimed at schools.

BMXV CLUB CONTACT DETAILS
With the expansion of database services being rolled out by Cycling Australia (BMX Australia) it is increasingly important that
CA/BMXA have up to date contact information for all their member clubs, and soon when online membership starts it will be
even more important. Please would all BMXV Clubs fill out a copy of the 'BMXA CLUB OFFICE BEARERS,CONTACT DETAILS' form
which is available for download from this site under ‘Forms’ and send a copy to Cycling Australia. Also under ‘Forms’ is a
‘BMXV Club Contacts Update’ form which should be returned to us, for example, when there have been changes to your Club
Committee. Please remember that if your Club’s banking details change, the BMXV Treasurer accounts@bmxv.com.au needs
to be informed to facilitate reimbursement of online entry money.

The 2010 BMX Victoria Riders of the Year Awards night was held at the Jika International on the 12th of February 2011.

Availability of online entry for clubs: Please read the attached information regarding the availability of online entries for clubs.
Victorian Race Numbers: All Victorian riders have allocated race numbers. Please check out yours in the list attached on the Administration page and
make sure you ride with it.
Working With Children Checks: All volunteers in our sport need to have passed a Working With Children Check (WWCC), . It is both a legal
requirement and a requirement of our Insurers that all our volunteers and officials have passed their WWCC by 30th June 2010. The time to apply is now. The
best place to get information is at the Victorian Government website www.justice.vic.gov.au/workingwithchildren
